Consistency, Consistency, Consistency…
When looking for property, especially as an investor, we look to marketing to get heard and expose our message. Marketing…whether as an investor who buys property or as a Loan officer seeking new new clients or as a bank advertising a lending product…its all the same. What’s not the same is how you go about doing it.
Many of us throw a bunch of money into a 1 shot ‘hope it will work’ approach, such as $10,000 on a huge mailing campaign, or 2 Sunday 1/2 page ads, or even a Super Bowl 30 sec commercial spot for millions…And why? Our thinking is that that this approach will expose us to the masses, and that ultimately people will flock to our website or offer. I’m really speaking to those who decide to spend most or all of their marketing dollars on 1 effort.
The reality is that money spent in this fashion is often wasted. It’s wasted and unsuccessful, because you’ve put all of your eggs in one basket and when its over…its over.
When trying to get your message heard, there’s another much more powerful force, called consistency. Consistency in marketing is doing the same thing over and over and over in the same places. It’s building a connection with the people that you are trying to reach.
Why is Consistency so important?
Many times, people may not be interested in your offer right now, but chances are strong that when they are, they’ll remember where to find you…if you maintain visability in the same places. Often times, a consumer will have a need months (or even years) later and will look to the place where they first saw you, hoping to find you again. Maybe, it was a billboard, or an ad in the paper, or a directory, or a website. Consistency also means that you’re doing something right…you’re still in business…you know what you’re doing…you’re experienced. Think - Would you trust an agent fresh out of school or one with a 15 year track record?
How does this apply to Dwellgo?
Dwellgo allows a buyer to create a profile and make that profile available to any and all property owners that fit their criteria. So, if we know consistency is important, then it makes sense to maintain a visible prescence in Dwellgo today, tomorrow, next month and next year, or as long as you’re interested in buying property.
Of course, it also makes sense to make sure that you stand out in the crowd (more on this later)…
