Tonight is the Night!!
Tonight is the night! Close to 65 million viewers watched the election results four years ago and with the emotions that have built around this election, considerably more millions are estimated to watch tonight. So what should we expect? How long will we have to sit in anticipation? What states are responsible for us sitting at the edge of our chair, or making us hold our breath? According to an article in the Austin American Statesman by Diane Holloway, she gives us pointers to look for as we watch tonight unfold. By 6 p.m. (Central Time) polls will be closed in two battleground states — Indiana and Virginia. If both of those states fall for Obama in a big way, we’ll see the anchors, reporters and pundits begin to salivate over an early call for victory. (Holloway)
At 6:30 p.m., two more big battlegrounds end their voting — Ohio and North Carolina. If McCain takes both of those states, look for insecurity among the folks who previously were prepping for a winner to be announced early. (Holloway)
And at 7 p.m., after Florida, Pennsylvania and Missouri wrap things up, the suspense will either be gripping or the end will be clear. (Holloway)
No doubt tonight will be a big night in America’s History. For more things to expect view Holloway’s Article Tonight’s the night! What to expect on TV’s election results.
